Very good program, but unfortunately it does not record from a DVD screen on the computer.

johnsonbca, for webcam captures you may want to look into helix as it is much better for that type of work with 30fps no problem or use freeware videodubber

 This program works simply and does exactly what I wanted: a direct way to capture webcam video of my grandson at his preschool.

It took a couple of tries to find an appropriate frame rate. I expected that 15 frames would be right, but this is video of video, and so 2 seems to work better.
I accidently hit the JPG button and made 200 stills instead of a movie. Now I'm wondering if there is a way I can put these together into a movie.

 Interesting, for about 30 seconds. Severely lags the PC though, and the sound quality is very low.

 Interesting, for about 30 seconds. It is a good idea, and has plenty of options for video and audio output, but wither way it severely lags the system and the sound quality leaves much to be desired.
