An important input for physically based simulation models for metal processing, such as production; refining; casting and welding, is the relevant physical properties of the metals and other materials including moulds and slags. Typically enthalpy-related properties (viz.; Gibbs energy, enthalpy, entropy, specific heat capacity), heat-transfer coefficient and thermal conductivity or diffusivity are required to model heat flow, and a knowledge of density; viscosity and surface tension are used in fluid flow modelling.

Thermo-Prop for Windows has been design to take full advantage of the Windows interface, using a full 32-bit optimising compiler. With just a few simple clicks of the mouse you can calculate thermophysical and physicochemical properties of materials. Thermo-Prop incorporates high quality databases which have been measured and compiled by Foundry Institute.

Full automatic calculation of thermophysical and physicochemical properties.

Thermo-Prop covers thermophysical properties (viz.; enthalpy-related properties, thermal conductivity and density) for all the metallic elements in the periodic tables; and alloys namely: Aluminium-, Copper- and Ferrous alloys.

Likewise, physicochemical properties (viz.; viscosity and surface tension) for all the metallic elements and their corresponding binary alloys are also covered.

Heat transfer module, which incorporates inverse methodology to determine parameters of heat transfer coefficient in actual experiments, is also available.

Furthermore, it also consists of rich set of subroutines which provides all the necessary tools for evaluation of experimental results; and even regression analysis and mathematical expression tools are also available.
