The noise reduction features are *awesome*. I pulled a hum out of a video with this, and the hum was about twice as intense as the signal I wanted (voice) - not to mention that the hum was in the same frequency band as the voice. After removing the hum and normalizing the audio, I was left with a clean signal with no extra noise. This is otherwise a very full-featured sound editing program, and it hasn't been bought by Adobe, so it'll probably remiain excelent (unlike CoolEdit, which Adobe has purchased with the intent of ruining)
The UI in GoldWave isn't as polished as it could be, but everything's intuitive. It could use some more windows-izing, though, to blend in with ints intended environment. |
